Anomander is in a different weight class even if he doesn't transform into a dragon. Karsa is a savage but that would be like a kid throwing a tantrum in-front of Khabib.

Yeah, but Karsa knows how to fight. He would take his whooping, but he’d also wait for his moment.
That’s what I like about Karsa, lives by the shield and dies on the shield lol

But I wished he would have put Tuon in her place every once in awhile.

I am not doubting his skills, I just don't think he has the physical strength to seriously hurt Anomander/Andarist/Silchas. I'm biased though.

Not sure if it counts but The Long Price Quartet by Daniel Abraham doesn't get enough love. He also wrote The Expanse series under the pen name James S.A. Corey but this has really hit main stream with the TV show.

as far as sci fi goes; it should start with heinlen, bradbury, clarke and asimov. assuming you know that, you have to get your hands on the 'hyperion cantos' by dan simmons. the first two books, 'hyperion' and 'fall of hyperion' are nothing short of epic. you have to read them back to back - they were meant to be a singular book and you only get half a story without much a of a cliffhanger from the first book.

While I enjoyed the series I also though it was erratic and it left me kinda unsatisfied.

Having said that, I could read stuff about the marines/sappers and especially the Bridgeburners for ever. And that's saying something - that the more mundane characters (in the power set term) impressed me the most.

Wish I could get into fantasy. Sone of these novels and series sound amazing, but upon reading, I get bored so easily with them

It’s a series of three 1000 page books, so not easy to summarise, it’s space opera with added zombies-but much less tacky than that sounds!

I'v seen it called that and I spose it is at a few points were the protagonist looks to cast himself in a rather better light but moreso than that I would say its a narrator locked into his own viewpoint in world that's very alien to us thus its often not clear at first exactly whats being described.

I remember first reading was more being "along for the ride" a good deal of the time as it is actually quite a fast moving book/books but probably needs 2-3 reads to really start to understand the complexity of the settings world/history and whats actually going on with the characters, luckly though not excessively long.

I have half expected post GOT someome will try and adapt it for TV as you could argue its pretty highly regarded(arguably second only to Dune and LOTR in that kind of grand world building fantasy/sci fi) and on the face of it the story being quite episodic would fit TV well. Still though the scale of events, the strangeness and graphicness plus perhaps just the nature of the book might not work, actually seeing the world directly would loose the sense of having to slowly work it out from the narrators perspective.

Because they were fighting for something bigger than they could comprehend. Except for Quick Ben. Guy is a walking deus ex machina. And Kruppe is the @Clippy of that universe.
