Bring spotters. Do you have a pick up game by yourself?
I am far, far far from a people person. But you seem like a real asshole. Hopefully you dont ever ask others for help for anything.
I don't think you've ever been to a gym.
You need a good spotter though. What if the guy you ask for help is attractive yet weak?
If someone ask, I'm happy to help, but I never ask anyone. I know my limits and strength.
lol people dont generally ask the scrawny guy for a spot. And if no one asked you for a spot, then you're the scrawny guy.
I help people lift weight all the time. Just not in awkward, stupid positions.
Watch squatting competitions, two on each side of the bar is the proper way to spot someone squatting.
Don't have any . But I have plenty of experience spotting at powerlifting meets and during training . My coach is in his 50s and can spot me by himself when I have over 400 on the bar.
At meets or max attempts, yes side spots are needed. For general training purposes where you are not maxing out, a back spotter is fine .
I thought this wasnt about looking gay.
And if your spotter pops wood and you feel it.. who cares? That would just tell you you're hot shit. Mindset bro.
Based on what, not wanting to stand behind strangers who don't know how to lift?
If you don't have a lifting buddy don't go hard. Basic and simple.
Guys squat hard all day and they have spotters. See it all the time. The ones who don't lift weight they can handle. The only time I ever saw a guy squatting heavy asking for help was the time he asked me.
It's not common. If you think it is, you're the one who knows nothing about lifting.
I made this thread because I was asked for this specific spot dummy.
so you should be flattered that someone deemed you strong enough to save their life!
How do they spot in squatting competitions, behind?
I disagree. Asking a random nobody to stand behind you with 400lbs on your back is dumb.
My entire argument is based on asking a stranger. If you bring spotters there is nothing wrong with this spot.
I think he admired my glistening muscles. Couldn't stop staring.
He looked almost like that.
Oh I wasn't referring to a random nobody. If you can't find a trusted spotter, set up the safety racks .
