The continued "find a well known property that will sell" thing in Hollywood is starting to drive me nuts.
The reimagining of the reboot of the remake of the prequel to the yada yada yada yada

No way son. Pet Sematary is my fav horror movie. And book. And the song is great too lol. I never thought it to be scary, but I don’t get scared by films anyway. Although Zelda was a creepy shit and she can GET FUCKED

    Ohhhh yeah.

To be fair, a similar cringey wound was inflicted by Chucky in the original Child's Play, but to the back of the knee cap.

Hows this for triggering: Child's Play > Pet Semetary

That's the name of it. Read a book. Preferably the title of that one, first.

The past couple years, many horror movies look the same to me.

I've never gone anywhere near Pet Sematary but I heard recently that it's King's scariest book by far. Doubt I'll watch the film but I might read the book sometime

Hopefully it is done well. The original was a classic Stephen King movie.

Yeah, it's also pretty short. First book that ever really creeped me out. A real sick and morbid be careful what you wish for tale.

Hell yeah it is. And not absurdly long like a lot of King’s work.

For people complaining about remakes, this one certainly shouldn't be one. The original was what? 30 years ago? It's a reasonable time frame for a remake. Not like the 3years, 5years, 7 years crap we have seen.

Whether or not it's good is up for debate when it actually hits the the theater. I'm hyped about this. The original was creepy but not the best horror for the decade imo. This new one might improve it.

I agree with this, less Let Me In.
People need to get over hating remakes just because it's remake. Judge the film by itself not by its predecessor. I liked the new Evil Dead and was dumbfounded by the hate.

Re-watched the original a few months ago, still holds up. Not sure about the new one. Will wait for reviews.

Where would you rank it amongst SK's other books?

I’ve only read IT, the Stand, Salem’s Lot, Cujo, Pet Cemetary, On Writing and a bunch of his short stories. Salem’s Lot is my favorite and Cujo ranks last. Pet Cemetary ranks somewhere in the middle but all of those are great books. With it being relatively shorter and having fewer characters (compared with IT or The Stand) it was an easier read than of his other stuff.
