no one is indispensable
He’s probably the number 2 draw right now, so likely they’d take a pretty big hit.
Than why does everybody know who khabib is and his instagram broke records of short term growth. Just stfu bro you speak absolute nonsense. 350k with iaquinta is aamazing. Go look at the numbers of the other surrounding pvps
Ferguson did 200K buys with Lee, Khabib did 350K with Iaquinta and then beat Conor in the biggest UFC PPV card. Khabib have 12 million followers on Instagram, Tony have 870K followers... Of course Ferguson would be the draw in their fight
This is a win win for UFC and Conor. Khabib gets stripped, and Conor fights for the vacant belt
Nothing of value would be lost.
Oh it most certainly does. Are you kidding me? He has 11.2 million followers on Instagram. By comparison, Nate Diaz has 2.4, Jon Jones has 2.9.
He’s the 2nd biggest star in the UFC, whether you like it or not.
It’s Khabib time.
No point moaning about credibility of title belts or champions because the UFC has already devalued them, all that matters is making money & I genuinely believe they'd prefer it if such a dominant champion would just disappear as let's be honest Khabib's not a draw & the UFC hype machine would move on very quickly without him & go back to promoting their poster boy.
Make Conor/ Nate 3 for the vacant belt, have Tony/ Gaethje to determine next challenger as the co-main and the division moves along very nicely. The casuals forgot about Conor losing before & they'll do so again, especially with the hype behind the Diaz trilogy & no doubt everyone associated with the UFC forbidden to even mention Khabib's name. Plus the UFC can take the moral high ground here & make out they've taken this action to restore order even though the truth would be just about trying to hand the title back to McGregor.
Just to clarify I don't want this to happen, but if Khabib tries to play hard ball with Dana I can see it backfiring spectacularly for him & he'll end up headlining in M1 for a pittance against lesser opponents which would be a genuine waste of talent. Although as I'm writing this I could see Askren being tempted out of retirement & I'd love to see that fight.
Khabib is a bigger draw than most, but not that big. Like Jon Jones, he might be just enough to be worth it, but if he starts demanding irrational things too like keeping Tuhkogov, then he just needs to go.
Kebab won't sell anything if he's not facing McNugget
Khabib: 11.9 million Instagram followers.
Nate Diaz: 2.4 million
Jon Jones: 2.9 million
GSP: 2 million
I would bet Khabib vs Dillon would do better than that on Bellator.
SJW cucks are not UFC customers snyways so UFC may not be very exposed there.
I think that UFC would be perfectly fine without Khabib from a business perspective but it s an opportunity cost since this drama really sold.
This noble muslim warrior angle can certainly attract interest.
Everybody was talking about this on sunday morning. I was at an airport in Europe and in 30mn I saw 2 different guys checking the fight on their phone and overheard a group of dudes talking about it. I have coworkers who knew about it.
It s the first time that I noticed that in Europe after a fight.
So IMO UFC is going to bank on that cash cow, but yeah they don t need it.
I think you’d be surprised.
He’s a household name now. Every media outlet is praising him and talking of his dominance.
The whole world watched him absolutely maul the UFC’s most popular star.
Exactly, UFC already lacks credibility, integrity, ethics and morals etc so nothing to lose. Only the $$$ that counts.
UFC = Electronic Arts of the of sports/martial arts industry.
You are aware that having more casual instagram "fans" means absolutely nothing. Without Conor drawing all the PPV buys Khabib fades back into the 500K PPV territory.
Conor/ Nate 3 would do at least three times the numbers of Khabib defending against Tony.
Yeah and he had 5 million still only drew 300k PPV buys. LOL
Maybe he'll do 600k now with your instargam logic.
It'd be little more than a speed bump on the road forward...Khabib is not a huge draw. Dana cannot give in here. If he's willing to retire over this, so be it.
You got it wrong: the one who's gonna take a hit is Kebob. By leaving UFC he would solidify and confirm what everyone (including his fans) already knows: he's ducking everyone who stylistically poses a threat to his record's virginity (wrestlers and guard experts with solid striking who make up more than half of top 10 rankings).
He gained 7 million followers after beating Conor?
Damn, now that’s impressive.
Separate names with a comma.
